WEEK THREE 15/02/2018

The task;

Animate head and shoulder rotation of an original character.

Keeping in mind proportion, volume and 2D animation skills e.g. flopping.

above Character Design (refined version)

In class, we discussed benefits of animating a symmetrical character – it’s quicker.

My character design is not symmetrical (one ear exposed, head dress sloped along the right shoulder, teeth, etc), meaning extra work for myself when it came to flopping the image. However, the asymmetrical design subliminally forced me to examine the features and their placement in relation to their angle with more detail.

Turnaround GIF

I reduced shoulder volume and simplified the poncho for the turnaround.
